We're sad to announce that September 11 will be Kellan's last day at Infinite Body Piercing. After almost eight years with us here in Philadelphia, Kellan is heading to Seattle to take a job with Deep Roots Tattoo and Piercing.
Kellan started his piercing career way back in 2003, and came to Infinite in November of 2007 after relocating from Portland. At that time he was the new kid on an amazing team that included Infinite veterans Clay Wanstrath and Hydi Zaster, along with newcomer Jen Minuti.
By 2010, Kellan had become head piercer here at Infinite, taking on the responsibility of managing the piercing staff. He has helped to vet candidates for guest spots and has played a crucial role in selection process for prospective new piercers. He has been the piercing team leader at each year's Association of Professional Piercer's Conference and Expo in Las Vegas. He's used his skills as a photographer to greatly expand the number of images on the Infinite site—and help out with the Infinite Tumblr. He also oversaw the apprenticeship of Kali Taylor, who now manages the Alderwood location of Deep Roots—and who will once again be Kellan's coworker in his new position.
Kellan has always balanced his professionalism as a piercer with antics that don't let us ever take ourselves too seriously. Whether it's his love of booty shorts with Kevin Jump (or booty short day part 2, or part 3), or dressing up with Kali for Halloween while manning the APP booth at the American Public Health Association Conference in 2011, Kellan has brought humor to the studio. He has been an integral member of the staff, and he will be missed.
And as much as we will miss Kellan, we know his clients will be sad to see him go too. If you're interested in getting any work done by Kellan, make sure you make it in before his last day on September 11. Give us a call at 215 923 7335 to get his schedule before you make the trip. Help us show him some love before he goes to Seattle.
This also means Infinite is looking for a piercer to fill Kellan's soon-to-be-vacant spot on the staff. If you're a piercer with at least five years studio experience, and are interested in either doing a temporary guest spot, or making a more permanent move to Philly, email Jess at firstname.lastname@example.org.
