William Scott

Born and raised in a small Midwest town, body piercing was always a curiosity of mine, but always felt so out of reach. It wasn’t until I was making long drives to cities I’d never been that I would notice how prevalent piercings were and the sense of identity and expression those pierced people carried. I knew wanted to be to be a part of it, and that I wanted it to be a part of me. I received my first piercing, my nostril, in a closet in the mall that a local youth pastor was using for a chance to testify to the locals. I was uninterested in his beliefs, but the piercing changed my life forever. I knew I wanted more.

When I was 18 I moved to Pittsburgh, knowing that the moment I was done with high school, I wanted to pursue a career in body piercing. It didn’t take long before I found my jumping off point at a tattoo shop in the Southside. After spending over a year there, I was hired in as an apprentice at a local APP studio where I spent 12 years watching, studying, and devoting myself to a life as a professional body piercer. A huge part of my learning was the year I spent traveling around the country, shadowing other piercers, attending classes, and learning along side others at the fakir intensives.

Now 13 years later, I’m thrilled to be a part of the infinite team. I find doing people’s first piercings to be one of the most fulfilling experiences this profession has to offer, especially while chatting about music and reality tv.
