Elayne Angel and End-of-Summer Guests

Elayne Angel and End-of-Summer Guests

We will again be hosting Elayne Angel for what will be her only visit to Philadelphia in 2018. She will be seeing clients at Infinite Body Piercing from August 26 to 29, and then September 1 to 3, 2018. We're excited to be seeing Elayne Angel and other end-of-summer guests as we come to the end of the season here at Infinite.

For those of you not familiar with her and her work, Elayne has been piercing since the early '80s, when she was taken under the wing of Jim Ward and ended up as manager of the first body piercing studio in the world, the original Gauntlet in Los Angeles. She later started her own studio, Rings of Desire, in New Orleans in 1993, which she operated for twelve years. She closed that studio shortly after hurricane Katrina and relocated to Merida, Mexico, where she completed The Piercing Bible: The Definitive Guide to Safe Body Piercing, which was published in 2009. She served several terms on the board of directors of the Association of Professional Piercers, including as the organization's president, as well as editor of The Point: The Journal of the APP. Elayne now tours other studios extensively, limiting her practice to nipple and genital piercings which have long been her specialty. Anyone interested in being pierced by Elayne can contact her directly for available appointments.

In addition to Elayne, some of our favorite piercers will be working selected dates through the end of the summer.

Jake Hardman returns and will be piercing at Infinite from August 21 to 25. Jake is coming to us from Eustis, Florida, where he is the owner of Drift Piercing Studios. This will be the first time that Jake will be here when it is not freezing outside and we are happy to show him how great Philly is in the summer!

Our Sunday savior Sarah Morgan from Black Cat Collective in Perkasie, PA  will be joining us on August 19, and September 16, and 30.

Our favorite comedian Paul Rainer from Bound for Glory Tattoo in Staten Island will be working August 12, September 9, and September 23.

Vikki Johnson rocking her Infinite apparel!

We'll also have a new guest this September. Vikki Johnson hailing from Your Flesh Tattoo in Durango, CO will be in the studio from September 9 to 17. We'll let her introduce herself:

Yá'át'ééh!

Hello! My name is Vikki (IG @VIK_THE_IMPALER) and my piercing journey began in 2004. It was completely by fate that piercing came into my life in my early 20's. I was offered an apprenticeship after I met a lady from California who opened the only piercing shop in my small home town of Farmington, NM. I was offered the job solely based on the fact that I was the only candidate not squeamish to the sight of blood. (Ha!) When I started, I had no idea that piercing would become my lifelong career! I spent the first couple of years in and out of the industry trying to educate myself as much as I could without any solid industry connections. Then, I had the golden opportunity to attend the Association of Professional Piercers convention for the first time in 2008 after I met (then sitting president of the APP) Alicia Cardenas at a Sol Tribe jewelry showcasing in Denver. She helped open my eyes to a whole new world of information! It wasn't until 2010 when I moved to Oregon that I was able to focus more seriously on honing my abilities, and in 2014 I was able to attend the Fakir Intensives course in San Francisco, CA. All of these experiences have contributed to being able to raise my piercing game to what it is now.

I have been fortunate to work and guest spot around Portland, OR in shops such as both Velvet Elvis Piercing locations, Soul Fyre Body Piercing, Robot Piercing and Tattoo, Ritual Arts, and guest spot at other shops outside of Oregon such as Nathan's Anthems in Redding, CA; Club Tattoo in Tempe, AZ; Love and Hate Tattoo in Phoenix, AZ; and Your Flesh Tattoo in Durango, CO before taking my current piercing position there.

When I'm not piercing I am usually trying to find a pinball table or the nearest (b)arcade. Arcades have been a lifelong hobby since my dad introduced me to pinball at a very young age. I also enjoy thrift store shopping to add to my ever growing pile of knick-knacks and collection of outdated media. With the amount of traveling I do, I also still enjoy playing Pokemon Go quite a bit.

It's been a long and humbling/fumbling road to get to where I am today. I am so honored to have this opportunity to be a guest at Infinite, and I hope to give you an experience to remember with a beautiful piece of jewelry that will last a lifetime.

Thank you!
Ahéhee'!

Valentine’s Day words and stuff.

Last—but certainly not least—Infinite staple Johnross Switz from Mean Street Tattoo & Piercing in Bensalem, PA will be here September 22. JR is kind of like the fifth Beatle to our regular staff, as he has been filling in at Infinite since early 2016.
